ABOUT US

Wirral and Chester Branch of the RSPCA is a separately registered charity from the national RSPCA and we rely on public support to maintain the crucial work we do in the Wirral and Chester areas.

How we are funded

We are responsible for raising money locally to fund the work we do from appeals, donations, events, and legacies.

We receive no government funding and rely on your donations to continue our work rehabilitating and rehoming rescued animals.

What we do

The Branch operates an animal centre in Cross Lane, Wallasey, where we have 2 catteries and are licensed for 161 cats (including nursing cats and kittens). We normally operate at full capacity with around 120 cats.

We have a small facility for dogs which is reserved for those dogs rescued by the Inspectors who need lots of rehabilitation and care.

Our main focus is to support the RSPCA inspectorate with the rehabilitation of cats and dogs that are abused, neglected and abandoned which have had to be taken into RSPCA Branch care.

The staff and volunteer team are dedicated to giving animals another chance at life and spend hours working with even the most traumatised of animals to establish a positive bond with humans and give an animal a new start in life.

Rebuilding that trust can take  months of effort by the team but it is worth it when an animal is matched to a new owner who can meet its needs and provide a future loving home.

We have a no destruct policy, so any animal in our care will remain safely with us until a suitable home can be sought.

We believe that it takes ALL of us to create a world that is kinder to animals: please support us in that work.
